About the Blackman's Point Howeowners Association
The Blackman's Point Homeowners' Association (BPHA) is a registered not-for-profit organization under the laws of Massachusetts. Our membership consists of residents of Blackman's Point RV and Campground, a seaside mobile home and RV park in Brant Rock, Massachusetts (a section of Marshfield). The park is owned by the Blackman family, and has been in their family many years. In fact, the location of the park is denoted as 'Blackman's Point' on nautical charts and area maps.
The BPHA was formed in 1987 when the Blackman family decided to sell the park, and notified all residents that the park would be closing. Many of the longtime park residents got together to see if the closing could be prevented. We retained a Boston attorney, Margaret Marshall (now a retired Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court), to represent the residents. Fortunately, the Association was able to stop the sale of the park. The Blackmans and the Association signed a Settlement Agreement giving certain rights to each party. The Settlement Agreement and Right of First Refusal are available for review by all park tenants (contact the Clerk to get printed documents).
